Frequently Asked Questions
What is therapy like?
Therapy can seem daunting at first, but really its all about creating a space where you feel heard, supported and understood. Therapy works best when weekly, consistent and collaborative. Sometimes talking about difficult emotions can be tough, but then other times we get to celebrate wins! It's really about providing you support on a consistent, reliable basis.
Why do people go to therapy?
People tend to start in therapy because they are feeling either out of control of how they are feeling, ready to uncover old patterning, or just ready to make some changes in how they feel day-to-day. Things don't have to be a crisis to get help. Therapy can also be super helpful as a compliment to other types of treatment, like seeing a psychiatrist or even other support like acupuncture or meditation.
Does what we talk about in therapy remain confidential?:
Whatever we talk about is always confidential. There are only a few exceptions - if I felt you were in danger or if I knew someone else was in danger. Otherwise, our work together is completely confidential.
